Employment, Labour and Industrial Relations

We are cognizant of the significant changes in the employment and labour dynamics in Kenya over the past few years. Most labour obligations are now no longer just contractual but firmly enshrined in statutes with stiff sanctions for noncompliance. A stable labour relations landscape is of fundamental importance to the growth of any country’s economy and as such we offer representation to both employers and employees in all matters concerning employment disputes.

We are always on the lookout for emerging jurisprudence from our courts to best advise employers on compliance requirements, in effect helping them avoid or minimize liability and maintain a healthy work environment.

On the other hand, we also represent individuals on matters relating to discrimination at workplaces, unfair dismissal, termination of contracts etc.

We handle both contentious and non-contention matters including representations in court, drafting employee contracts, drafting and reviewing polices and manuals, advice on termination, dismissals, redundancies and restructuring. Further, we negotiate out-of-court settlements between employees and employers through alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.
