OLLANDO CECIL ANDREW

Ollando Cecil Andrew is an astute litigator, mediator, and negotiator; skills he’s continually acuminated over the past 7 years working atvarious reputable law firms most notably Otieno, Ragot & Co. Advocates (now Owiti, Otieno & Ragot Advocates).

Before co-founding the firm, he was an associate advocate at Oguttu, Ochwang’i & Ochwal  where he honed his skills in handling matters of Property Law, Probate and Administration, Civil Litigation, and Criminal Litigation.

Ollando also previously headed the Legal Advisory department at Transparency International – North Rift Office in 2018.
At OMA Law, he heads the litigation, Insurance, and conveyancing department.

Academic Qualifications: LLB (Honours), Moi University. Postgraduate Diploma in Law, Kenya School of Law.
Professional Qualifications: Certified Professional Mediator (MTI-K).

MANAGING PARTNER

MISARE WILLIES

Misare Njagah is a very versatile and dynamic legal practitioner who heads the Commercial Consultancy department at the firm. He is known for his attention to detail and hands-on approach in handling client issues.

Misare held an in-house role at Jamii Telecommunications Limited (JTL) and its sister companies (Ad Group) handling legal compliance, commercial contracts, and customer relations. This exposure to the telecommunications industry saw him serve in several ICT sector stakeholder taskforces culminating in being seconded to the National Broadband Strategy review as a member of the Policy, Legal & Regulatory technical working group. This as well as an essential role in the private sector alliance ICT committee responsible for the review of the data protection bills.

Before co-founding the firm, he was an associate advocate at M/S M. Ayieko Odhiambo & Associates. An expert in Legal Compliance Audits, Tax Law, Telecommunications Law, Civil and Criminal Litigation, Commercial transactions, and Perfection of Bank Securities, Misare Njagah enables the firm to offer timely, competitive, and commercially viable solutions to clients.

SENIOR ASSOCIATE

OKUTHE BRIAN ODERO

Brian Okuthe is a senior associate at Ollando, Misare & Associates’ dispute resolution and commercial transactions department. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL. B) from Moi University and a Post-Graduate Diploma in law from Kenya School of Law. Brian has experience working both for law firms and corporates where he sharpened his commercial law skills. He began his career as a trainee advocate at Okong’o, Wandago, Advocates’ litigation and commercial transactions department. He has also worked at Kenindia Assurance as a legal associate and at Standard Properties Ltd (Real Estate) as a legal officer.

He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the firm.

His areas of practice include: Commercial Transactions, Entertainment Law, Intellectual Property Law, Conveyancing and Civil Litigation.

ADVOCATE

ANYANGO HELLEN IVY

Anyango Hellen Ivy is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with over three (3) years’ experience in fast-paced multi-sectoral organizations including law firms, government institutions and NGOs. Apart from being an advocate, Anyango is also a certified mediator and data protection expert. She has excelled in providing coordination and implementation support to high-level executives and project teams with multiple tasks including legal aid and awareness at Transparency International.

She has also supported and coordinated the Judiciary Digitization Project in Kisumu, Nairobi and Mombasa Counties in Kenya. The digitization process involved a step by step documentation of the processes, procedures and feedback collation from the various teams involved in the process culminating into project technical documents and the main system user manual in her capacity as an advocate. She is currently practicing as a commercial law expert and mediator.

ATTORNEY

AMOS OCHIENG

Amos is an associate at Ollando, Misare & Associates’ dispute resolution and commercial transactions department. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from The University of Nairobi and a Post-Graduate Diploma in law from Kenya School of Law.

Prior to joining the firm, he was practicing at the Attorney General Chambers where he honed his skills in various areas of law, particularly legislative drafting and public law. He was instrumental in crafting the COVID regulations at the height of the coronavirus pandemic in 2020.

His background in public practice coupled with experience in the private sector makes him able to anticipate how facts will be interpreted using the relevant laws, thereby helping clients dissect complex legal issues.

His areas of practice include Legislative drafting, Legal Audit & Compliance, Constitutional Law, Devolution Law, and Civil Litigation.

OFFICE MANAGER & INSURANCE CONSULTANT

DUNCAN ODERO

Duncan Odero has over 10 years of experience in Banking and Finance (Insurance). He is a pioneer group of Bancassurance Business having joined KCB in its formative years if the insurance division.

As the first officer in charge of Tom Mboya Branch, he set a standard of performance and profitability.

When he joined Kenyan Alliance, he again pioneered Bancassurance, having grown the panel of banks from just 1 in 2016 to 27 in 2022 when he existed. Over the years, Duncan oversaw business growth and profitability in each year.

From a humble section of just 3 staff, he grew the Bancassurance of Kenyan Alliance to a full fledged department with over 15 staff.
While at Kenyan Alliance he also pioneered alternative distribution channels of insurance (PCK) in 2018 and which expanded from just 8 branches to over 40 branches across the country.

Duncan has also conducted numerous Insurance trainings across the country for various banks.
He has also help developed numerous insurance products for Kenyan Alliance as well as revamp others.

At Masete, Duncan has grown insurance business from zero production to over 50M GWP in under 2 years.

At OMA-LAW, Duncan is expected to aggressively grow the Insurance and Bank business and expand the firms portfolio.

RESEARCH ASSOCIATE

BOB OYIER

Bob Oyier is our firm’s in-house researcher and heads the Debt Collection department at the firm. He is a results-oriented debt collector with three years of experience and knowledge in the leasing/finance sector.

Bob is a strong negotiator who goes out of his way to understand the financial difficulties our clients’ debtors may be facing so as to settle on mutually agreeable terms. His diplomatic but assertive style coupled with his adaptability Bob Oyier has constantly yielded results and seen the firm earn high Research Associate praise from our clients in different sectors among whom are RFH Hospital, Open Coin Capital, and Space Edge Capital.

RESEARCH ASSISTANT

MARION AWINO

Marion Awino holds a degree from the University of Nairobi majoring in the field of linguistics. She also holds a certification in leadership from ELF Africa. She has high communication and facilitation skills.She has taken part in various workshops involving translating, analyzing , researching and interpreting language data. She is also multi lingual and can speak English , French and korean. This has enabled her to be able to easily comprehend complex documents and texts.
